This was our first season with The Wild Bunch Nostalgia drag racing club, and though we only managed to compete at 4 events it was very enjoyable and we made some great new friends.
The season was intended as a shakedown season both for the car and the driver. We managed to score a few points along the way and finished mid table in the three race series run by the club.
At the August Bank Holiday Open Sports Nationals at Shakespeare County Raceway we managed to pick up the Best Slingshot award which was much appreciated as we destroyed the engine ending our season early. Still, if you don’t break in occasionally you’re not trying!
At the end of season awards presentation, much to our surprise, we won the Roy Wilding Best Newcomer trophy, and also the Big Bang Award for our engine destruction. We’ll try not to win this one again.
